Our Training program

Our training program will provide your Merci Dog with the foundation on which to prepare and build your dogs’ competency to commence further specific service dog training according to the needs of the owner.

Training includes a range of competencies for example the ability for the dog to walk on loose lead; to focus on the owner and not be distracted by other dogs or noises when out in public.

Older dogs i.e. 1 year participate in an additional two week intensive training and proficiency bootcamp prior to release which introduces them to specific aspects of their service work.
