Merci Dogs

Merci Dogs are highly suitable for assistance, therapy and other areas of service work.

Over the years, Merci Dogs have been trained to carry medical equipment; provide comfort to the frail & elderly in hospice care; have been trained to alert to medical conditions & provide a physical response catering to the need of the individual; act in the capacity as school dogs working with children with learning disabilities; provide comfort to the recently bereaved as bereavement dogs within in the funeral industry and assist with the reduction of the effects of stress & psychological trauma.

Merci Dogs are able to fulfill a wide range of needs from faithful companions to providing a range of medical support services.

Merci Dogs are dogs for life.

To achieve this all Merci Dogs are behaviourally tested and assessed in relation to the criteria required and placed into homes accordingly.

At Merci Dogs we take the time to ensure that everyone (dog & new family) are setup for success.

Merci Dogs are released to their new homes with a well stocked hamper featuring a range of canine accessories; food & treats plus nutrition and sample diets.

Merci Dogs provide lifetime support & guidance for owners & dogs.

Merci Dogs are behaviourally assessed using a range of tests to ascertain suitability to the prospective new home.

All Merci Dogs are fully socialised with other dogs; trained to walk on a range of different surfaces (grass, artificial grass, gravel, sand, concrete, floorboards etc); familiarised with handling, grooming, crate training and car travel.

Additionally all Merci Dogs are familiarised with a range of different household noises including a wide range of music and public outings to ensure that when they are out in public they are true Merci Dog ambassadors.
